a new adventure (!)

it's official.

i am goooooing to NEW ZEALAND!

a friend of mine from Capernwray last year (Laura) and i have been talking about going travelling for months now. it has been a huge debate just as to where we should go on our travels . . . and for a long time we had decided on southern Europe. however, then she really got talking about new Zealand and Australia . . . and i got hooked.

i am drawn to Europe because of its endlessly beautiful art, history and character . . . and Lord willing I will go there one day. but New Zealand is all about adventure (in a different way than Europe) and that's what i want right now. i am already trying to convince Laura into doing some skydiving and parasailing :)

we are looking into options of buying a campervan while we are there, then selling it at the end of the month. apparently that is very common with travellers there, and many dealerships will arrange buy-backs. so if the insurance isn't insane we may opt for that . . . because how fun would that be?? it would hopefully save us some overnight costs, and give us more freedom as well.

we are booking flights on Tuesday or Wednesday . . . we'll leave the very end of February, and come back near the beginning of April. so until then i will be saving every little penny!

for those of you who have travelled lots. . . any tips, hints, or suggestions??
